ITALBOX Upgrades Glass Coating Technology Adding Industrial Flexibility, Safety And Higher Performance
IRVINE, CALIF.—Wednesday, May 20, 2015—DFI and ITALBOX jointly announce the FuseCube™ to be installed in their headquarters in Portugal. The patented Diamon-Fusion® easy-to-clean nano-coating machine, known as the FuseCube™, is a fully automated system that can provide glass fabricators and manufacturers significant savings in both material and labor costs compared to the traditional spray-application coatings, while adding an unmatched industrial flexibility and added-value. ITALBOX will be utilizing a small model FuseCube which will have the ability to apply Diamon-Fusion® to both sides of the glass, and all edges, of up to 75 standard size shower panels – amounting to over 1800 square feet (167 m2) of surface area – in approximately one hour, the FuseCube™ can coat fifteen times more surface area than the manual spray-applied method in the same factory footprint for a fraction of the cost.
ITALBOX, a privately-owned company based in Agueda, Portugal, was established in 1999 and, since then, it has expanded its facilities due to the growing demand for their state-of-the-art shower screen designs. Since 2007, ITALBOX has grown exponentially and now creates custom designed pieces exclusively for each client, with a vast distribution sales network that reaches throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Their focus in innovation has allowed them to establish themselves as a reference in the shower door industry
“Because of the increase in demand for our innovative shower screens while seeking both best quality in the market place coupled with best cost-effectiveness and most advanced technology the integration of the FuseCube™ will allow us to satisfy the needs of each client as well as increase our standards of differentiation, sustainability, and social concern. The Diamon-Fusion® coating applied will increase the brilliance of the glass as well as create a more hygienic surface, which coincides with our mission to increase the standard of sustainability and environmental concern.” stated Miguel Sao Bento, Financial Director of ITALBOX
According to Guillermo Seta, DFI’s Corporate Vice President, “The FuseCube adds significant industrial flexibility while offering an eco-friendly, easy-to-use, safe and cost-effective solution to protect glass and silica-based surfaces, and innovative companies, like ITALBOX, will see a savings payback on the FuseCube in under a year; we also reduce the coefficient of friction of the treated glass which translates into a very low sliding angle that is key to having an easy-to-clean surface as the water rolls off that much easier and quicker.“
The FuseCube’s core technology is operating in more than three dozen locations across ten countries in North America, Europe and Asia.
